PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Scope: The iOS app, beginning with version 3.2.0, while it follows the practices described below. Older releases and versions distributed on other platforms may have different practices and notices.
1. WHO WE ARE
Today Weight: Diet & Calories is operated by Shenzhen Jianyue Life Technology Co., Ltd. (English rendering of the registered company name), trading as SimpleLife ("we", "us" or "our").
Registered address: Room 201F3, Haifa Building, No. 393 Jihua Road, Shuijing Community, Jihua Subdistrict, Longgang District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.
Privacy and support contact: simplelife1024@163.com
This policy explains how the iOS app handles your records, permissions, purchases and analytics. You do not need to register a separate account with us to use the app. An Apple Account may be required for Apple's services, including purchases and iCloud.
2. YOUR HEALTH RECORDS AND OTHER INFORMATION YOU ENTER
You may enter weight, height, age or birthday, gender, weight and activity goals, measurement dates and times, meals, foods, portions, nutrition values, activity and energy records, notes, tags, photos and reminder settings. The app uses this information to provide records, charts, BMI and goal progress, nutrition summaries, energy estimates, widgets and reminders.
Records are stored in the app's local storage. iCloud synchronization is enabled by default in the app and can be changed in Preferences. When enabled and available for your Apple Account, supported records may be synchronized through Apple's private iCloud storage. Supported record photos may also be saved in the app's iCloud container. Availability depends on your settings, network and storage. The app and its widget share the settings and record summary needed to display your widget through an iOS App Group on your device.
The app does not send the contents of your weight, meal, photo or other health records, or data obtained from Apple Health, to its analytics provider. We do not sell your health records or use them for advertising, marketing or cross-app advertising tracking. Subscription Family Sharing does not automatically share these personal records with family members.
3. APPLE HEALTH AND OPTIONAL SYSTEM PERMISSIONS
Apple Health: With your permission and on supported devices, the app can read weight, height, steps, walking/running distance, active energy, resting energy and exercise time. It requests permission to write supported weight, height, step, walking/running distance and active-energy records. Actual access is limited to the types you authorize and the features available on your device. Authorized data is used for your records, trends, activity and energy summaries and synchronization; it is not sent to the analytics provider. Declining Health access does not prevent manual weight recording. Review or revoke access in the Health app or iOS Settings. Deleting a record in Today Weight does not necessarily delete a separate copy in Apple Health.
Camera and photos: If you use scale-number recognition, the app requests camera access and analyzes the camera image on your device to recognize the displayed number. You can also select or capture images to attach to supported records. The app reads the images you choose and stores record photos as described in Section 2. Camera frames and record photos are not sent to the analytics provider. System photo pickers and photo permissions depend on the action and operating system version.
Location and weather: If you use local weather, the app requests location access while in use and sends the location needed for the weather request to Apple's WeatherKit service. This location can be precise if precise location is enabled in your system settings. Refusing location access affects local weather. Weather requests are separate from the approximate network-derived region that the analytics provider may process.
Notifications: With your permission, the app delivers weigh-in reminders you configure. Reminder content may be visible on your lock screen depending on your notification settings.
You can change these permissions in system settings. Declining a permission affects the feature that needs it, rather than granting permission for unrelated uses.
4. ANALYTICS AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The app includes Umeng analytics components, UMCommon and UMDevice, to understand app usage and improve reliability and functionality. The provider is Umeng Tongxin (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. and the entities identified in its privacy policy.
Depending on the SDK version and configuration, the provider may process device or installation identifiers, SDK-generated identifiers, IP address, approximate region derived from network information, device model, operating system and app version, language, network information, app usage information and technical performance or diagnostic information. These technical data may leave your device and are handled under the provider's service terms and privacy policy. Device or installation identifiers may allow technical events to be associated with the same device or installation.
Provider privacy policy: https://www.umeng.com/page/policy
In the current iOS app, devices whose system region is China are shown the app's privacy consent flow before analytics is enabled. Outside that region, analytics follows the app's standard startup behavior. There is currently no separate analytics opt-out switch within the app. You may contact us about your privacy choices and requests concerning provider-held data. Do not assume that purchasing membership disables analytics or deletes data the provider has already processed.
5. AD-FREE IOS EXPERIENCE
The iOS app described in this policy is ad-free for all users and does not include third-party advertising SDKs. It does not request App Tracking Transparency authorization and does not use your health records for advertising. The current release does not integrate WeChat login, sharing or payment SDKs.
An ad-free experience does not mean that the app collects no technical information. The analytics practices in Section 4 still apply. Older releases and versions on other platforms may have different practices; this policy describes the iOS release specified above.
6. APPLE PURCHASES AND OTHER SERVICES
Apple processes in-app purchases. StoreKit provides product, transaction and entitlement information so the app can unlock Pro, check its validity and restore eligible purchases, including eligible Family Sharing access. We do not receive your payment card details or Apple Account password. Managing or deleting app records does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Apple operates Health, iCloud, WeatherKit, the App Store, device permissions and other Apple services under Apple's own terms and privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
The app includes food nutrition references and source notes. When you open an external nutrition source, policy or support page, the website operator may receive information normally transmitted in a web request, such as IP address, browser information and the requested URL. The website's own notice applies to its processing. This app policy does not authorize an external website to access your saved health records.
7. EXPORTS, SHARING AND SUPPORT
If you choose to import a CSV file, the app reads the selected content to create or update records. If you export a file, generate a shareable image or use an iOS sharing option, the destination or recipient you select receives the content you choose to share. You control whether to initiate these actions.
If you contact us, we receive the email address, message and attachments you send. We use that information to respond and handle the request. Please avoid sending health information or other sensitive details that are unnecessary for support.
8. PURPOSES AND APPLICABLE LEGAL BASES
We handle information to provide the features you request, validate purchases, respond to support requests, analyze use and improve the service, and meet applicable legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, it depends on the activity and applicable law: providing a requested service, your consent where required, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests where the law permits reliance on them. These may include operating and improving the service and protecting its security. We do not rely on this policy alone as consent where a separate choice or authorization is required by law.
9. STORAGE, RETENTION AND INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Local records and photos normally remain until you delete them or remove the app's local data. Deleting the app from one device does not necessarily delete iCloud records, device backups, exported files or copies on another device. Review your Apple Account storage and backups separately.
Apple and Umeng operate their own infrastructure. Technical and support information may be processed outside your country, including in mainland China, depending on the provider and service. Applicable laws and protections may differ between countries. Where laws impose conditions on international transfers, those conditions apply to the relevant processing.
We retain support correspondence only as needed to handle the request and meet applicable obligations. Provider-held technical data follows the provider's retention and deletion procedures. We do not promise that all information stays only on your device or that uninstalling the app erases information held by a service provider.
10. SECURITY, YOUR CHOICES AND YOUR RIGHTS
We use the protections available through iOS app storage and Apple's services and limit the health information provided to the app's analytics integration. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
You can review, correct or delete supported records within the app, control iCloud synchronization in Preferences, manage iCloud storage and backups through your Apple Account, control system permissions in Settings, manage authorized Health data in Apple Health, and choose whether and where to export or share records. Export any records you want to keep before deleting data. Deleting records or uninstalling the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, or withdraw consent without affecting processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal. You may also have a right to complain to the relevant data protection authority. Contact simplelife1024@163.com to make a request. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your request and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Where applicable law provides protections against retaliation for exercising privacy rights, we respect those protections.
We can assist with requests concerning our handling of information and help identify the relevant provider for other requests. We cannot directly erase information in your private iCloud or Apple Health storage, or copies you have shared with another recipient. There is no separate Today Weight account registration or app-account deletion workflow.
11. CHILDREN
The app is intended for general health record keeping and is not directed to children under 13. Users must meet applicable age requirements and the requirements shown in the App Store listing. Where the law requires a parent or guardian's involvement, that involvement is necessary. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without required authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address the information as required by law.
12. CHANGES AND CONTACT
We may update this policy when the app or its information practices change. We will show the updated date and provide additional notice or request a new authorization where applicable law requires it. The version that applies to a release must describe that release's actual practices.
